Glass Lathe
Much of the equipment used in the AWV works was designed, made, maintained and modified on-site as required.
The picture here appeared on the cover of Radiotronics May 1951.
"Our front cover illustrates a stage in the manufacture of an oil diffusion pump. The part being formed on the glass lathe is the condensor.
This type of pump makes it possible to achieve the high degree of vaccuum necessary for the modern miniature valve."
